Roti ( Flatbread)

Roti is a very famous food in South Asian countries. It is a round shape flatbread,  made with stoneground wholemeal flour, traditionally known as atta, and water that is combined into a dough and cook on the stove.


  • All-purpose flour – 300 gram
  • water – 200 ml


  • Place the flour in a bowl
  • add water slowly and mix flour and water with your hand
  • knead the dough for 5 minutes
  • Cover the dough and rest for 10 to 15 minutes
  • Sprinkle the floor and roll the dough
  • Tear off apices into tennis ball size
  • Roll and shape into a ball
  • dust the flour and flatten
  • use the rolling pin and roll until it gets fairly thin
  • Get rid of excess flour by shake by using tow hands
  • In a medium flame hit up a pan
  • Place the prepared dough
  • Wait until the little bump appears
  • Turn on the other side and cook for 30 to 40 second
  • fliped it again on press gently with kitchen paper towel or piece of fabric around 10 second
  • The bread started to blow up and ready to serving
  • Optional – you can also spread some butter after it cooked
